Jennifer Bravo is President of Jennifer Bravo Consulting, Inc., where she works to spur innovation and collaboration in the public interest. She advises clients on strategic planning and implementation, public policy, design thinking, open and social innovation, and collective action to help them achieve positive impact in the world. She is a seasoned convener and thought leader, working across many content areas in the social, environmental, political, and technology sectors. Current clients include the National Geographic Society and NASA’s Centennial Challenges Program.

 

Prior to developing her consulting practice, Jennifer spent over four years at the XPRIZE Foundation, accelerating innovation and impact through prize competitions. As Senior Director, Visioneers, Jennifer leveraged a global community of innovators and thought leaders to design competitions that tackle the world’s Grand Challenges. Before that, she was a key member of the Prize Development team, where she collaborated with scientists and entrepreneurs to design competitions in areas as diverse as Alzheimer’s Disease, cybersecurity, refugee housing, and kidney disease. She led the design process for the Adult Literacy XPRIZE, from its inception to its launch in 2015. Jennifer has been a regular contributor to Singularity University’s Innovation Partnership Program.

 

Before joining XPRIZE, Jennifer worked closely with government agencies, NGOs, and academic institutions to develop and implement policy in the public interest, primarily in the fields of drug policy reform, grassroots democracy, campaign finance, and environmental and animal advocacy. She has volunteered with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on Operation Cyberwild and Operation Wild Web; with the Humane Society of the United States on state-wide ballot measures and citizen lobbying; and with a variety of other advocacy organizations on design thinking workshops, research, analysis, outreach, and legislative efforts.

 

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento in anthropology, with a focus on primatology and environmental studies, and her Master of Public Policy from the University of Southern California, where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar and graduated with Highest Honors. She recently completed the Southern California Symposium, an executive education program in social innovation at USC, where her work focused on design thinking and collective impact. She spends her free time advocating for social justice, animal protection, environmental issues, and low-impact living. She currently serves as the Communications Chair for the non-profit grantmaking organization Womxn Funders in Animal Rights.
